Established in 1920 by Battista Rodondi, Sr., B.J. Rodondi Insurance served the businesses and residents of the then recently incorporated city of South San Francisco. Surviving the Depression and World War II, B.J. brought his son, Ed, into the business, after Ed’s military service. Ed took the reins of the Agency in 1956 and solidified its position as a fixture on the San Francisco Peninsula, under the masthead, Edward R. Rodondi Realty & Insurance Agency, Inc.

On December 1, 1988, the agency was purchased by Mark Griffith, who transformed the operation from a local agency, to a regional brokerage, setting it on a course for growth and expansion. At this point, the name was changed to Rodondi & Associates Insurance Brokerage.

Mark Griffith – Owner/Broker

Mark Griffith was born and raised in Southern California. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 15. Mark graduated from Crespi Carmelite High School at 17 and joined the United States Navy, where he served on a Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine. Upon receiving an Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Mark returned to Southern California, where he attended the University of Southern California. Mark graduated from USC in 1981, with degrees in Economics and Finance.

Upon graduation from USC, Mark moved to the Bay Area, and began his insurance career, in January, 1982, where he worked as a solicitor for Winchester Insurance Agency, in Fremont. In 1983, Mark was hired as a broker, by A. Mason Blodgett & Associates, which at the time, was one of the largest independent insurance brokerages in San Francisco.

In 1986, Mark was appointed Vice President at Blodgett, thus becoming the youngest Vice President in the history of the firm. Mark maintains his commitment to professionalism, having received the Accredited Advisor in Insurance and Certified insurance Counselor designations. Mark and his wife, Lynn, live in Cottonwood, on their Rare Breeds Ranch, where they breed Anatolian Shepherd Dogs, Peruvian Paso Horses, Alpacas and sheep. They have five adult children and five grandchildren.

Javier Poyatos - Insurance Agent (Bay Area)

Javier was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. He played competitive soccer through high school, enjoying the opportunity to travel to tournaments throughout both the U.S. and Europe. After High School, Javier studied English at San Francisco State university, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Arts in English with a focus in creative writing. After college, Javier went on to work in the restaurant industry. As a bartender, Javier enjoyed being able to make a living in a social, creative environment helping business owners develop their brand. Having given up soccer long ago, he enjoys pursuing fitness through martial arts, practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu regularly and yoga. After nearly a decade as a bartender/bar manager, Javier decided to move on from the restaurant industry and earned his license as an insurance producer. His goal is to help business and property owners protect assets and promote their business.
